My name is Mollie Higginson and I work at New Leaf Plants, I am also one of the co-founders of YPHA. I have worked in horticulture for 4 years, starting as a worker on the nursery and moving into sales and now sales executive and operations manager. I started up YPHA with my other 2 co-founders back in 2019 when we realise that as a young person in horticulture it can be a very isolating industry, we wanted to build a network of young people across all horticulture sectors so our industry can continue to thrive, this network currently sits at over 500 members. In 2022 I received one of the 30 under 30 awards for my work with YPHA and I was also the runner up for the HTA young grower of the year 2022. My aim is to continue to make horticulture as accessible to everyone as possible and change the way our industry is seen throughout the education and further.  I never thought I would be working in horticulture, but 4 years on after coming to New Leaf for a summer job, I wouldn’t dream of working in a different industry.
