Laurence Gale
I began my career in 1972 as a Parks Apprentice with Birmingham City Council and spent 11years working for the Parks Department , before moving to Portsmouth to take up the role of Head Groundsman at Portsmouth FC , I then became a client officer for the MOD looking after Military Estates for 7 years when in 1990 I moved to Shropshire and took up the post of Parks Manager with Telford & Wrekin Council. In 2002 I left the council and went back to university to undertake a Masters Degree in Soil Science at Cranfield University.
In 2004 I was appointed to the role of Editor for Pitchcare an industry Grounds magazine. In 2015 I went self-employed and now write for two industry Magazines , Turfpro and Service Dealer. I currently carry out other roles has a green flag judge and RFU Pitch advisor, while at the same time manage and undertake and offer a lawn and garden maintenance service.
I am also a member of the Gardener’s Guild, Parks Management Association, BASIS Reg, Midlands Parks Forum and the GMA.
