Charlotte Howard
Charlotte Howard, MHort (RHS), ND Hort. - Has been gardening ever since she could hold a trowel. Charlotte is not your run-of-the-mill garden designer, her work is quirky, fun, natural and above all, wildlife friendly.
Charlotte learned the art of planting and good design under the expert tutelage of her interior designer mother and architect father and helped create their innovative Wiltshire garden that featured in Homes and Gardens and was a regular feature on the NGS Yellow Book scheme.
Charlotte has been running her successful garden design and horticultural consultancy practice for two decades. Before that, she was in retail management for the Arcadia Group while moonlighting as the world’s first female boxing MC and a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. Her eccentric, rich and varied life informs all of her designs and has given her a passion for working with people to create the low-maintenance, wildlife-friendly gardens of their dreams.
In the past few years, Charlotte has become well-known in the media for her passionate fight against the scourge that is artificial grass. Working alongside other campaigners, she has made great strides into making plastic grass as unacceptable as smoking. She will not give up the fight until it is banned.
